Interpretation of Laboratory Values
Speaker Amy Chewning, MS, RDN, LDN, CSG, Senior Dietitian, Genesis Healthcare will discuss the interpretation of laboratory values specifically as they relate to the post-acute/long-term care resident. Special consideration will be given to assessment of protein status and why albumin and prealbumin are not sensitive indicators.

CHANGE IN PROGRAM:

The program on Complementary Alternative Medicine has been changed for the upcoming seminar.  Dr. Nancy Cotter, MD will be presenting at our next seminar on Tuesday, January 26, 2016.

What’s in Your Regulatory Toobox?

Phyllis Famularo, DCN, RD, CSG will be presenting a review of the federal OBRA survey including F-tags that impact food and nutrition, a review of citations that have occurred over the past 2 years as well as review the new MDS-Focused and Dementia Care surveys.  The program will also include how to write a plan of correction for citations and a review of the proposed regulatory changes that will impact long-term care specifically those that relate to food and nutrition.
